Drug pushing tanod nabbed

SAN JOSE, Antique – A barangay tanod was nabbed by police operatives last evening of March 1, 2012 at Culasi, Antique.

Edward Clataro y Nacionales, 38 years old, was collared in his residence at Brgy Jalandoni, Culasi, Antique.

The poseur buyer was able to buy one sachet containing suspected shabu, which prompted members Antique Police Provincial Office Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Group (PAIDSOG) , Culasi Police Station, Provincial Public Safety Company and in tandem with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 to effect his arrest.

In the ensuing body search, the operating team was able to recover another eight (8) sachets containing suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride worth P1, 000.00 each; the marked money; improvised water pipe tooter, and one empty pack plastic sachet.

PAIDSOG revealed that Clataro is a long time drug personality operating in the northern area of the province. “He is the number one pusher in the municipality of Culasi and nearby towns” PAISOG added.

According to Senior Supt Ruperto T Floro Jr, police director of Antique Police Provincial Office (APPO), said that with the arrest of Clataro there will be reduction of supply and drug use in the said town.

“The Pulis Nyo Po in Antique will continually intensify its operations against proliferation of illegal drugs; declared Floro.

“For those who still engage in illegal drug trade and use, stop and change your lifestyle, if not, the Pulis Nyo Po in Antique will not stop running after you and put an end to the drug menace” warned Floro.

To date, the operation was the third accomplishment of APPO for this year in the campaign against illegal drugs.

Clataro was detained at Culasi detention cell, a case on illegal possession and sale of illegal drugs will be charged against him while the recovered illegal drugs will be brought by arresting officers to Regional Crime Laboratory in Iloilo City for examination, as other non-drug evidence was turned-over to property custodian of the PAIDSOG..
